CENTENNIAL PARK GOLF
David 'Gu' Bernards
Director of Golf
David’s passion and dedication to the game began at the age of 12, with a cutdown 7 iron and sleeve of Titleist DT golf balls. His 42 year odyssey includes competing on the Golden State Tour, coaching golf as a member of the PGA of America, caddying on the PGA Tour for 25 years, and currently as Director of Golf at Centennial Park GC. His in-depth golf instruction is based on tour proven methods, individually tailored to each student, with a designed 9 part methodology • swing mechanics • wedges • short game • putting • routine • mental • course strategy • equipment • conditioning | He takes pride in raising his son Devo, helping to start a golf team/program at Westview Centennial Secondary School, and supporting the Women’s Habitat of Etobicoke.
Director Junior of Golf
Logan started working on the driving range at Centennial Park Golf Centre back in 2007. After 5 years he moved into the pro shop for a number of years before starting our Junior Camp in 2018. Logan is a high school teacher in the Peel District School Board and is trained in providing differentiated instruction to each of his students to meet their individual needs both in school and on the golf course. As the Director of Junior Golf at Centennial, Logan has created a junior program here that introduces juniors to the game and provides the basics fundamentals of grip, posture, full swing, short game and etiquette. As students learn the game on our driving range and short game area, he also takes them out on the course to teach them the importance of course management and on-course etiquette. Although Logan focuses mostly on the junior camp, he can provide private instruction for juniors who are interested in more advanced learning and who want to play competitive golf. Some of his past students have participated in the Golf Ontario Drive, Chip & Putt Challenge as well as CJGA events.
